Full Spectrum vs THC-Free: Which CBD Oil Is Right For You?
Share

Walk into any CBD shop in the UK and you'll hit the first decision point almost immediately: full spectrum or THC-free.
If you've done any research, you've probably encountered both terms. What do they actually mean, and which one should you choose?
Full Spectrum CBD
Full spectrum means the product contains the complete range of compounds found in the hemp plant — CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, flavonoids, terpenes, and trace amounts of THC (legally must be below 0.2% in the UK).
The idea is that these compounds work together in what's known as the entourage effect — the combined effect is greater than any single compound in isolation. Research suggests full spectrum may be more effective for pain, anxiety, and inflammation.
THC-Free CBD
If a product is THC-free, the THC has been removed — either completely (CBD isolate) or to undetectable levels (broad spectrum). This is the choice if you need to avoid THC for any reason: drug testing, professional sports, or personal preference.
Which should you choose?
If you want the most effective CBD product and don't have a reason to avoid THC, full spectrum is generally the better choice. If you're subject to drug testing, have a sensitivity to THC, or are giving CBD to a pet, THC-free is the safer option.
